How do I know if my CRB needs to be renewed?
If you have applied for clearance through us before CRB checks need to be renewed every 3 years and we will inform you if this is the case. If you have not been CRB cleared through us, but are still working for an organisation where you have already been CRB checked, and it is still current, we will need to see your Disclosure.
What are the dates I need to keep free if I am helping this year?
CRB checking date- At the Guides HQ, Southern Road, Thame – details of which will be confirmed to you nearer the time
New to Lighthouse– If you have not helped at Lighthouse in Thame before, do come along to our Newcomers to Lighthouse Team evening on Wednesday June 22nd 8-9pm at the Guide HQ, Southern Road, Thame. A good chance to meet some of the team and to find about more.
Helpers Briefing– July 10th 2.30 till approx. 5pm For everyone on team. This year the helpers briefing is at St. Mary’s Church, Haddenham. If you know anyone else coming to that meeting you might like to share a lift, to help with parking. You may wish to cycle. We will notify you of more details via email later in the year.

Do I need a Lighthouse T shirt if I am not a Lighthouse Keeper or Lamplighter?
Everyone who is on site needs a Lighthouse T Shirt. You will be given yours at the Helpers Briefing session if you don’t already have one. you can either borrow one for the week or purchase your own for £5.
Where exactly is Lighthouse, where do I go?
If you drive into the entrance of Lord Williams’s Upper School (on the Oxford Road OX9 2AQ) there will be signs directing you where to park your car. Then you will find more signs showing you where to go to find the marquees where Lighthouse is taking place in the grounds. If you are helping at Parents and Toddlers these sessions will be taking place in the Leisure Centre and again, signs will tell you where to go.
Do I need a car park ticket to park in the Lighthouse car park?
Yes, you will be issued with one at the Helper’s briefing.
What do I do if I cannot attend the Helpers Briefing on July 10th?
All leaders are strongly urged to attend the briefing meeting, and it should not be missed without urgent cause. However, there will be a few for whom this will be unavoidable. You will need to let admin@lighhthouse.org.uk know if you unable to attend. There will be a short session the day before Lighthouse starts, just before the Commissioning service on Sunday July 24th, for those unable to make the 10th so do make sure you are available for that. You will receive further details nearer the time.
